VFSB - Administration, Policy and Finance Committee

The Administration, Policy and Finance Committee oversees governance, policy development and financial planning to ensure effective operations and strategic alignment of fire service priorities at the state level.

This committee also advises the Board and the Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security on legislation impacting fire prevention, protection and fire service organizations in Virginia. Its responsibilities include approving criteria for distributing grant funds from federal and other sources, exploring alternative funding options for volunteer fire departments and guiding jurisdictions on implementing those alternatives.  

The committee also oversees the Fire and EMS Studies Coordinator, who provides technical assistance and conducts Fire and Emergency Medical Services studies in partnership with the Agency.
